Sadly, I cannot not reproduce here -- ever, not even once. Did you properly save and close the document before opening it again? Or could it be that something is really fishy with my setup? If so, what could that be?

I'm attaching a few screenshots and the resulting .sla file. I notice that all pages except the first has the attribute LEFT set to 0. But I know nothing about the sla file format, so I cannot really tell if this is expected or not.

To make things worse, even if I go through the hassle of recreating the L+R master pages to include page numbers every time I open a file, pagination is still broken. See my last two attachments. Page numbers are shown correctly in Scribus, but not in the PDF. In it, I opted to export pages 32--37 out of a book of 128 pages. All R pages get stamped with page number 33, which is the first recto page in the sequence. (Ignore missing page number on page 35, which is masked by an image protruding into the margin.)

Scribus has no problem keeping track of page numbers internally, as can be seen in the printer info line in the bleed. So I am guessing this is somehow related to the master page problems I'm experiencing.
