Summary | 0010380: new features of clipping path
Description | It would be very useful to add some additional features: - edit imported cliping path - create clipping path directly in Scribus

couldn't the feature be: use the clipping path to define the contour line or the frame shape... which you can then further edit... or am i missing something? |
|
No... I need both - frame shape and clipping path as well. Frame shape for flow text around the frame (it creates white space around the image) and clipping path "hides" part of the image. Now, it is possible to do it two ways. - edit clipping path in GIMP - create another shape in Scribus and set up levels and flow properly When there would be feature to create/edit clipping path, it would be possible to have only one frame with all these properties without editing it externally. It it just more effective and comfortable. |

you could flow around the contour line and hide the parts through the frame shape... the problem i see with your proposal is that scribus should be able to save the images on top of being able to read them... not impossible, but a bit harder than just duplicating the clipping path to another path... |
|
I know, but bitmap editors usually create clipping path... It's not necessary - shape of the clipping path could be saved internally as a vector object in Scribus. How could it work: - import image with clipping path - when edditing clipping path, Scribus duplicate original clipping path and change it - set up disable original clipping path - when you open such .sla file, clipping path would be disable for image but Scribus load it's own "clipping path" Advantage of this approach is possibility to use clipping path of the image and edit it directly in Scribus. |
