Summary0017379: Fonts not available in PDF text field
DescriptionWhen I want to select a particular font (for example Calibri) in a PDF text field. Scribus does not show me the font in the list of fonts.
I find that very strange, because the same font Calibri can be selected in the text properties of a regular text field.

Even if I download and install a new font (Google font: Carlito), it does exactly the same.
Scribus only shows me the font in the font list of a text field and not in a PDF text field.

Is there a fix for this?

PDF Text Fields have specific limitations vs fonts. If not using one of the base 14 fonts defined by PDF specifications, a font used in a PDF Text Field must follow these properties :
- must not be a Type 1 font
- must not be an OpenType font with PostScript outlines
- must be fully embeddable
Calibri fails the last requirement due to its size. You can change the subsetting behavior of Calibri by going to File > Preferences > Fonts, but changing this behavior can lead to bigger PDF files or unexpected behaviors in PDF Readers.
