Summary0003292: Objects with text flowing around their outlines affects text on other layers, too?
DescriptionHaving multiple objects that have text flow around their outlines seems to affect not only text on the respective layer, but also text on other layers.

Disagree. Layers should not interfere with each other at all apart from possibly hiding content from lower layers (except if we introduce adjustment layers in the future but thats a different thing).

I think the user should have the choice. I can think of situations where the current behaviour is quite useful, e g. if two layers carry two different texts that are expected to flow around a picture on a third layer.

So, what would be needed is a way to control if and to which degree objects on one layer can affect others.

Having the mentioned behaviour optional sounds like a good idea to me. I usually don't need it, but it MAY be useful in some cases, as Christoph here pointed out.

Presently, that feature makes my life harder though.

Had the chance to check out how Indesigen does this with layers, surprisingly it behaves as Scribus currently does.
