Summary0003719: adjusting object size causes undesired snap
DescriptionWhen adjusting the width or height of an object on the canvas or via properties with snapping turned on, the position of the object is resnapped.

E.g. you can adjust only the width of the object and its vertical position changes to snap to grid/guide. This shouldn't happen.
Steps To ReproduceCase 1: with snapping on, adjust the width of a box which is not aligned to a gridline at the top--it jumps up to the nearest gridline.

Case 2: Turn snapping on, make a new box aligned to grid, set the basepoint in properties to the bottom left and increase the height. It appears that the upper left point was used as the basepoint instead--presumably due to resnapping to the "preferred" corner as in 0003718.

I've seen snap events in other inappropriate cases too. One more can I remember is that undoing a move often causes a snap to grid, resulting in a failure to correctly place the object back in its initial location.
